Last night (Sat., July 7, 2018) at UFC 226 live on pay-per-view (PPV) from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, former UFC champion and current WWE superstar Brock Lesnar showed up cageside.
Later Daniel Cormier became the second fighter to hold two UFC titles at the same time when he scored a stunning first-round knockout victory over Stipe Miocic.
After that Cormier asked to take the microphone from UFC commentator Joe Rogan.
Once the mic was in Cormier’s hand, he opened up on someone who was sitting cageside for Cormier’s historic win.
“There’s a guy that I’ve known for a long time,” Cormier said. “He’s a wrestler, he’s an All-American, he’s a former UFC champion. I never thought I would fight him, but Brock Lesnar get your ass in here.”
Lesnar wore a smile as he entered the cage, but the big man seemed unamused as he closed in on Cormier. When he got within arms reach of the new champion, he shoved Cormier in the chest.
“Yeah, you’re strong,” Cormier said after the shove. “But everybody’s strong. Push me now, you go to sleep later.”
Lesnar then took possession of the microphone and unleashed an expletive-filled tirade at the UFC heavyweight division and its new kingpin.
“Let me tell you something, I walked into this building and watched the heavyweight disasters from the beginning. (Francis) Ngannou is a piece of (expletive). Miocic is a piece of (expletive). ‘D.C.’, I’m coming for you (expletive)!”
The Lesnar vs. Cormier fight has not been officially announced at this point but it is expected to take place in November.
