England 357-6 (81) Day 3 stumps

Team India collapsed in the 1st innings of with the core of 107 on the 2nd day if the 2nd Test at Lord’s. The third day started with the English openers Aleister Cook 21(25)  & Keaton Jennings 11(22). Indian pacers Ishant Sharma & Muhammad Shami managed the to stop this partnership early.

Shami struck first with LBW to Keaton Jennings in 8th over. Ishant Sharma sent back Aleister Cook in 9th over, taking the edge of his bat. Joe Root & Ollie Pope were in the crease following the struggled start, but they didn’t manage it for so long as Hardik Pandya sent Ollie Pope 28(38) back to the pavilion in 22nd over, Joe Root 19(53) couldn’t stand long as Shami did the work in 25th over.

Jonny Bairstow survived through Indian Bowling attack pretty long, he scored 93 runs from 144 balls, It was the 189 runs long partnership between Bairstow & Woakes that build a lead for England. Though Bairstow walked off in 75th over by Hardik Pandya, he did his work pretty distinctly. Bairstow missed the century by 7 runs but Chris Woakes didn’t, He scored 120 runs from 159 balls & is still batting alongside Sam Curran 22(24)*.

Play for the day 3 stopped early due to bad lights. At the end left in a strong lead of 250 runs by scoring 357-6 in 81 overs.

Shami managed 3 wickets, while Hardik Pandya came in with 2 wickets. Ishant Sharma collected 1 wicket while the spinners Ravichandran Ashwin & Kuldeep Yadav are yet to get a wicket.
