England vs India 3rd Test Day 1 Highlights: Good Start For India
The third test of the 5 match test series between England & India began today from Trent Bridge, Nottingham. By winning the toss Joe Root, England Team’s captain elected to bowl first. Team India had a great start on the day as compared to the last two test, which team India ended in losing effort.

Team India managed to surpass the 300+ runs mark on the day 1. Virat Kohli 97(152) & Ajinkya Rahane 81(131) made this possible after first 3 wickets of team India surrendered against the pace attack of Chris Woakes.
Indian openers Shikhar Dhawan & Lokesh Rahul picked up a steady start reaching the 60 runs before Dhawan 35(65) went back to pavilion in 19th over. Later Chris Woakes struck Lokesh Rahul 23(53) in 21st & Cheteshwar Pujara 14(31) in 27 over.
Kohli & Rahane made 159 runs long partnership before the hosts managed to pick up the 4th wicket. Ajinkya Rahane contributed 81 runs from 131 balls before his departure by Stuart Broad. Virat Kohli & Hardik Pandya were the rest two wickets for the day 1. Kohli missed his century by 3 runs, Adil Rashid managed to send back the Indian captain.
Hardik Pandya 18(58) came up with some hard luck today, he dropped the wicket in very last ball of the 1st day, giving the catch to Jos Buttler on the ball of James Anderson. The debutant Rishabh Pant is not out scoring 22 runs from 32 balls.
