Welterweight champion Tyron Woodley is set to defend the UFC welterweight championship against Kamaru Usman at UFC 235 on March 2 in Las Vegas.

But wait… the real contender was Colby Covington. In September, UFC president Dana White declared Colby Covington to be the next challenger. But just this week, it was announced that Kamaru Usman will be facing the champion at UFC 235, instead.

For those who don’t know, Covington and Woodley were supposed to fight last fall but when ‘Chaos’ wouldn’t agree to fight Woodley at UFC 228 due to a nasal surgery, the organization stripped him of his interim title.

The latest update is BJPENN’ Chris Taylor reported the following news.

“I’m told the UFC is looking to book a welterweight fight between Colby Covington and Darren Till for #UFCLondon on March 17. Covington has recently stated that he will hold out for his promised title shot, so we shall see what happens.”

Recently UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley defeated Darren Till, via submission that evening in Dallas.

Darren Till has not competed since suffering his first career defeat to Woodley at UFC 228.

Seems like Till already got his opponent. check out his recent post on Twitter.
