Ab De Villiers

AB de Villiers, a former captain of the South African cricket team, has stated that he will travel to Bengaluru for IPL 2023 but will not come out of retirement to participate. As of November 2021, De Villiers will no longer play any sort of cricket.

The iconic Proteas batsman had a fantastic IPL season with RCB, but the team never managed to bring home a championship trophy. He left the league as one of the greatest foreign players of all time and walked away with a huge paycheck.

There were three hundred and forty half-centuries among ABD’s 5162 runs in 184 IPL games throughout the course of his 14-year career.

Many RCB supporters would love to see the renowned batter come out of retirement and perform his magic once again in the IPL. But De Villiers put an end to it all when he said that he would no longer be playing cricket due to complications after an operation on his right eye.

To that end, I intend to visit Chinnaswamy Stadium in 2019. However, you shouldn’t use it for cricket. Since I have failed to deliver an IPL championship to RCB faithful thus far, please accept my apologies.

I’d like to express my gratitude to them for all of their help over the past decade. I am unable to continue playing cricket at this time. Since I had to have surgery on my right eye,” de Villiers explained on Monday through Twitter.

The ex-RCB batsman has announced his intention to launch a YouTube channel, with Virat Kohli set to appear on the show as one of the first guests. De Villiers added that he had been invited to participate in the second season of the Legends League Cricket but had to miss out owing to an eye operation.

I’ve reached that age where I can no longer do it. The Legends League seems like a great time. Unfortunately, I had to decline due to an eye operation I needed before the event. I know you’re probably thinking I can just play with one eye, but de Villiers remarked, “Don’t even bother.” The renowned batsman also denied reports that he will be coaching for an IPL team, citing a desire to spend more time at home with his loved ones.

I have zero interest in leading a team in any way. That will undoubtedly occur, as I am eager to impart all that I have learned. However, I have no plans to ever join a team, become a coach, or tour the world again. He continued, “I am quite delighted to spend some time at home after traveling for 18 years.
