Aaron Judge Foul Ball

The owner of a popular pizza parlor in Brooklyn, who was hit in the head by a foul ball from Yankees star Aaron Judge this week and hospitalized, told The Post on Thursday that he would like an apology from Judge in the form of a signed baseball.

Greenpoint resident Paul Giannone, 68, witnessed the “high pop” in the bottom of the seventh inning on Tuesday night against the Seattle Mariners and rushed to shield his wife.

“As I stood up, boom!,” Giannone, better known as Paulie Gee, the man behind the namesake Greenpoint pizzeria, said. It was like looking at the stars. People were inquiring as to my identity and the time of day. There was blood on my cap.

Giannone, who is known for his Neapolitan pies, said he received a “standing ovation” as he was escorted out of the stadium with ice and the offending ball. They transported him to NYU Langone, where physicians performed a brain scan while holding him for close to two hours.

Giannone stated, “I received a concussion” and shared an Instagram snapshot of himself in a hospital bed with a swollen head. I have a huge scab on my head,” she said. My ears are still ringing. He said that a representative from the Yankees had agreed to follow up with him on the injury, but that no one from the team had done so.

In order to make things right, he has asked the batter to sign the ball he used to knock his head in, and he would like to have the signing ceremony at his pizza parlor, which is filled with memorabilia from the New York Yankees‘ illustrious past. I want Aaron Judge to sign the ball he used to hit me, Giannone stated. “That seems reasonable to me.”

Furthermore, he said, “I’d enjoy it much more if he came to my shop.” He said the most surprising thing about the freak mishap on the field was that nobody had caught the ball before it hit him. “I can’t believe nobody saw it coming before it hit me,” he exclaimed. As in, “I’m just 5’5”
