TJ Hockenson injury

Injuries have plagued the Detroit Lions thus far in the 2022 NFL season. They received updates on two of their more significant offensive weapons on Wednesday.

Amon-Ra St. Brown, a wide receiver with the Lions, was lost in last week’s defeat to the Dallas Cowboys. He was declared ineligible due to the concussion he had during the game. The second-year pass catcher returned to practice on Wednesday, albeit in a reduced capacity.

This season, there has been more focus on concussions. mostly as a result of the Miami Dolphins’ handling of the quarterback Tua Tagovailoa problem. The NFL and NFLPA changed the concussion protocol guidelines as a result of the circumstance.

The Lions sincerely hope that St. Brown will be fit for Week 8 of the season. Running back D’Andre Swift, who returned to practice on Wednesday as a full participant, might join him. Due to ankle and shoulder problems, Swift has missed the last three games.

On the other hand, the Lions got a terrible update regarding tight end TJ Hockenson. Wednesday’s practice was missed by Hockenson. He had to wait because of a knee problem.

Despite dealing with a number of injuries this season, Hockenson has not missed a game. Additionally, the Iowa product has played a significant number of offensive snaps for Detroit so far this season.

Hockenson wasn’t the only Lions player to leave practice on Wednesday because of an ailment. The two biggest players absent from practice are guard Jonah Jackson and wide-out Josh Reynolds (knee) (neck).

Even though the Lions are still injured, it appears that St. Brown and Swift’s comeback will provide them with a lift. When the Lions play Tagovailoa and the Dolphins at home on Sunday, they will need that lift.
