New York Jets WR Garrett Wilson Suffers Rib Injury, Leaves Game!

New York has revealed that rookie receiver Garrett Wilson has suffered a rib injury and is doubtful to play against Cincinnati on Sunday.

In the middle of the second quarter, Bengals safety Jessie Bates III made a heavy hit on the wideout as he made a catch over the middle of the field.

Wilson caught the football for the fourth time in the game, but as soon as he did, he fell to the ground wincing in pain, and removed his helmet. A member of the medical team had checked on him, and now he was able to carefully make his way off the field, shaking Bates’ hand as he headed for the sideline.

Reporters observed the first-round pick on his way into the Mets’ dressing room.

The Jets are crossing their fingers that his injury is not significant and that he can return to the game on Sunday. Already in the midst of a breakout season, the wideout is primed to do some real damage for the rest of the year.

Wilson was already an important cog in this team’s rapidly growing offense thanks to his 154 receiving yards on 12 catches from Week 2. Wilson has already been targeted 26 times by quarterback Joe Flacco in 2022, and that’s just through the first few quarters on Sunday.
