Lakers PF Anthony Davis

Anthony Davis struck the floor hard late in the second quarter of the Los Angeles Lakers away game against the Phoenix Suns. He appeared to be gripping his left forearm or wrist as he lay motionless on the ground for several minutes. Devin Booker of the Suns fouled Davis as he tried to complete an alley-oop.

As the two fell to the ground, Booker actually received an elbow to the head. Both players and medical personnel from the Lakers stood over him while holding their collective breaths.

Davis ultimately made his way over to the bench and started to spread his fingers. After the timeout, according to Dave McMenamin, he continued to play. He was spotted grasping at that left hand, though, for the remainder of the first half.

The remainder of the first half saw Anthony Davis continuing to be aggressive. Los Angeles leads 55-53 at halftime thanks to his final stat line of a team-high 14 points, 10 rebounds, three thefts, three blocks, and two assists. They went on an 18-6 run to end the half.

The Lakers hope to extend their current three-game winning streak. The season has featured full streaks, including two separate five-game losing runs.

It was announced earlier on Tuesday that LeBron James would be making a comeback on Friday. The last thing the Lakers need is for one of their stars to come back while another is sidelined with an injury.

James is recovering from a groin injury that has prevented him from playing for the past few weeks. It appears  Davis escaped this danger for the time being.
