Mac Jones Was Taken Downstairs in Discomfort, Leading Doctors To Suspect He Had Sprained His Ankle!

Mac Jones, the quarterback for the New England Patriots, looked visibly hurt after Week 3’s 37-26 loss. Jones, who took a hard hit with less than two minutes to go, had to be assisted down the stadium stairs before getting X-rays.

As he was escorted down the steps, Jones looked like he was in excruciating pain. Although X-rays of Jones’ leg were negative, he is said to have sustained a high ankle sprain per a number of accounts.

How long Jones will be out of action is currently unknown. On Monday, when he has had an MRI, the team will have additional information.

Given Jones’ obviously distressed demeanor as he was taken into the locker room, that hardly qualifies as “good news.” It’s good news if Jones managed to prevent a broken bone. His season may be over because of a broken leg or ankle.

The San Francisco 49ers’ quarterback, Trey Lance, experienced this. Due to an ankle fracture suffered in Week 2, he will sit out the whole 2022 NFL season. However, Jones may still be out for some time.

If Jones were to be absent, Brian Hoyer would likely get the nod to start.

This is the second time in 2022 that X-rays were performed on Jones following a game. After the team’s disappointing Week 1 loss, Jones had to get his back tested. Thereafter, the X-rays came back negative, and Jones was good to go for Week 2.

Jones had a 22-for-32 completion percentage and threw for 321 yards before getting hurt in Week 3. Jones lost the game by throwing three picks and not scoring through the air. It was a rushing play in which he finally scored.

On Sunday, November 4, the Patriots will host the Green Bay Packers. Jones’ participation in that game is questionable at this time.
