In their matchup with the Los Angeles Lakers, the Washington Wizards suffered two setbacks. During their Sunday match, Anthony Davis and company not only defeated them but also cost them, Bradley Beal.
After suffering a hamstring injury early in the first quarter, Beal only played three minutes in the contest. The fact that the team identified his injury as a hamstring strain does not guarantee that he will be ready to play again soon. He has actually ruled himself out for at least a week, and it might be longer depending on the outcome of his assessment. The Wizards have undoubtedly been dealt a severe blow, and they simply can’t seem to get a break when it comes to Beal.
With losses in six of their last seven games and Bradley Beal now dealing with a hamstring injury, the Wizards face a defining stretch. “We’re not going to let go of the season right now,” one Washington player said. Here's my story for @TheAthleticNBA:https://t.co/bDGoGIq6Ob

For those who are unaware, this new setback marks Bradley Beal’s second extended absence from the Wizards. He entered the NBA’s health and safety regulations earlier in the season and missed five straight games.

The Wizards have three games set for this week, beginning with a contest against the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday and continuing with back-to-back contests against the Indiana Pacers and Los Angeles Clippers on Friday and Saturday. The earliest Beal might return is next Monday when they play the Brooklyn Nets.
Of course, the Wizards will have to exercise caution given Beal’s illness. It won’t be shocking if the team decides to give Beal extra time to relax and recover from his most recent health issue given how difficult it is to treat hamstring strains.
