On Wednesday night, Kyle Kuzma came through in the clutch for the struggling Washington Wizards, helping his club defeat the Chicago Bulls 100-97. Neither team relented as the contest came down to the wire. But in the end, Kuzma was the one who had the last laugh.
Kuzma took it upon himself to become the day’s hero with fewer than 10 seconds left in the final quarter and the score knotted.

With 5.7 seconds left in the game, Kuzma made a chilly fade-away three-pointer to give the Wizards a three-point advantage. The Bulls were unable to execute on the ensuing play, which gave Washington the opportunity to defeat their opponents by a hair’s breadth.

There was a lot more where that came from because Kyle Kuzma‘s clutch performances were so popular with NBA fans. He had a game-high 21 points for the squad, along with four rebounds and three assists. Even though it was his only 3-pointer of the contest, the Bradley Beal and Kristap Porzingis-less Wizards were ecstatic to receive it.
Zach LaVine, who erupted for a game-high 38 points, powered the Bulls. But the Wizards still defeated Chicago, giving them their second straight loss.
On the other hand, the Wizards have ended a three-game losing streak. On Friday, they will play again against the New York Knicks, the third game in their current four-game home stand. Kyle Kuzma will obviously want to keep the gas pedal depressed for that one.
