As the Dallas Mavericks took on the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday, things only got worse for them. Dorian Finney-Smith appears to be the most recent casualty on what has become a growing injury list, which is terrible for Luka Doncic and the Mavs as they are already losing a lot of important players.

Finney-Smith, who has started each of the Mavs’ 30 games this season, left the game on Monday after 28 minutes of play. It didn’t take long before he was declared ineligible to continue the game due to what was initially thought to be a right adductor injury. The seriousness of the injury is yet unknown, according to NBA expert Tim MacMahon of ESPN. Pascal Siakam of the Toronto Raptors, however, missed 10 games earlier this season as a result of the same issue.

Luka Doncic

The Mavs already missed Monday’s game against Minnesota because of the absences of Tim Hardaway Jr. (non-COVID sickness), Dwight Powell (left thigh contusion), and Maxi Kleber (right hamstring).

Hardaway and Powell’s injuries appear to be temporary, and they should return to action as soon as possible. The worst-case scenario for the Mavs right now is if Finney-Smith ends up joining Kleber on the sidelines for an extended length of time. Kleber, on the other hand, is out indefinitely.

Luka is also battling with a right quad issue, and his availability for Monday’s game was actually in question. But he managed to take the stage. With so many Mavs players out injured in the upcoming weeks, Doncic will have an even more burden to bear. In the end, the Timberwolves defeated the Mavericks 116-106.
