Jason Kidd is happy that the Dallas Mavericks are having a fantastic season. Tuesday night, after the Mavericks defeated Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets on the road, Kidd calmly responded to a question on the abuse that his club has consistently received from Twitter users (h/t Grant Afseth of FanNation).
“We’re going to be evaluated in front of everyone every night, but privately, we really think we’re on the right track. We’re starting to gel as a team this year, which is a change from the previous.
The Mavs defeated the Nuggets to climb to 13-11, but they could have had more victories by now if it weren’t for their recent late-game meltdowns. However, the Mavs’ current three-game winning streak suggests that they may be finally changing their ways.
Additionally, they have won four of their most recent five contests. This coming Friday at home against Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks, they have a chance to make an even bigger statement.
In the Western Conference standings, the Mavs are only in tenth place, although they are fourth in point differential (+3.1). When all teams in the leagues are taken into account, it ranks eighth.
