When Zion Williamson enters the league in 2019, there were few prospects that had as much anticipation around them. Williamson was heralded as a player with franchise-altering potential because of his uncanny combination of quickness, size, strength, and precise scoring touch.
Williamson’s career hasn’t exactly gotten off to a pleasant start; it’s only been three seasons. He missed a lot of time because of many injury issues, including the entire previous season.
Nevertheless, in his fourth season as a pro, Zion Williamson appears to be gelling. On Friday night, Williamson dominated the San Antonio Spurs. The 22-year-old power forward exploded for 30 points, 15 rebounds, and eight assists on unbelievable 9-14 field goal shooting and 12-13 foul shooting, putting his whole toolkit on display. He may yet have room to improve.
Willie Green, the head coach, spoke highly of the franchise’s cornerstone after the game and claimed that Zion Williamson is only now beginning to use all of his great basketball talents.
“He’s only beginning to scrape the surface. He’s going to keep improving. When he has the ball in his hands, he has witnessed several coverages on the field. According to the Pelicans’ official Twitter account, Green told reporters, “He’s just making plays for us over and over again.”

The potential Zion Williamson has for improvement is terrifying. He is already among the league’s top finishers in the paint. Additionally, his playmaking statistics have increased, particularly over the past few games with Brandon Ingram sidelined.
Williamson is already playing very well, so it seems sensible that he still has a ton of space to grow when he recovers from his protracted injury absence.

When you consider the timing of recovering from an injury, knocking off some rust in the early going of the season, and now, he’s starting to find his groove, Green continued, “It’s just good to see him [play this well].” When the Pelicans play the Denver Nuggets on Sunday night, Zion Williamson will want to continue his recent success.
