According to Jake Rowe of DawgsHQ, wide receiver AD Mitchell has entered the transfer portal after two seasons at the University of Georgia. The past two seasons have seen Mitchell, a former four-star prospect in the class of 2021, play a significant role in the Georgia offense.
AD Mitchell made a significant contribution to Georgia’s quest for the national championship during his rookie year in 2021. He played in a total of 12 games toward the end of his rookie campaign. Four touchdowns and 426 receiving yards came from his 29 receptions.
Mitchell was a dependable option through the air in both of Georgia’s playoff games during the 2021 season. In these two games, he had four receptions for 84 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Mitchell’s role in the Georgia offense this past season, when the team won another National Championship, was significantly diminished. He participated in a total of four games prior to the College Football Playoff. He was hindered throughout much of the season by a high ankle injury.
Mitchell had a strong season debut before suffering an injury. He has four receptions for 65 receiving yards and a touchdown in the first week.
Just in time for the College Football Playoff, Mitchell was back to full speed. And he once more contributed significantly to their victory in the National Championship. He had four receptions for 65 receiving yards, and two touchdowns, in the two postseason games.
We still don’t know why AD Mitchell decided to enter the transfer portal or where he would go. However, he will be taking a potential star wide receiver with him wherever he goes next.
