Stetson Bennett’s Georgia Bulldogs football career has been built on quelling naysayers and critics. Bennett’s time with the Bulldogs is finished after he claimed his second consecutive national championship and celebrated the triumph with a parade. His propensity to fire back at detractors, though, is not.

Steak Shapiro, a Food Network celebrity and the creator of the Emmy Award-winning program Atlanta Eats, chastised Bennett for using his phone during the Georgia football parade.

Stetson Bennett’s response came quickly. Here is the quarterback for the Georgia Bulldogs’ Twitter answer to Shapiro.

Stetson Bennett, who is 25 years old, has received criticism for being too old to play in a collegiate football game. The Georgia star mockingly claimed that Steak Shapiro doesn’t “understand the latest technologies” in response to that widely held accusation.

Additionally, the twice-champion Georgia football player wrote a lengthy reply in which he effectively refuted Steak Shapiro’s accusation that he ignored the crowd to use his phone.

In another tweet, Stetson Bennett stated, “I was controlling the aux and playing bangers so Sed and Chris and I could have fun on our last journey into Sanford. That pretty about sums it up. P.S. Mr. Steak “and shake” Shapiro, I don’t really like you. To be fair, though, I don’t much like your stuff either.

Bennett expressed his gratitude to the Georgia football fans on behalf of himself and his colleagues. He made it plain, though, that he values his teammates, for whom he has “broken bones, torn ligaments, and grieved.”
