Fans of FIU football had a good cause to toast the team with a beverage. That’s because tight end Rowdy Beers, a tight end from Highlands Ranch in Colorado, has recently given the school his commitment for the 2023 season.
Beers posted a brief message on Twitter to announce his choice to join the FIU football team.
All praise to God!
Committed!!! I want to express my gratitude to my parents and coaches for all they have done to help me become the player and person I am today. Hands up
Beers was a relatively obscure prospect who is now relishing his 15 minutes of fame as news of his commitment to the FIU football team spreads, largely due to his unusual name.
The Florida International Panthers recently wrapped up a poor year in which they managed only four wins and eight losses. Moreover, FIU football finished the 2022 college football season with a mere 2-6 record in league play.
Beers is undoubtedly prepared to assist FIU football in 2023 in making a turnaround. In high school, Beers, who stands 6 feet tall and weighs 225 pounds, played positions on both sides of the field for Valor Christian High School, including tight end and defensive line. In his senior season, Beers participated in 14 games for Valor Christian and recorded a total of 5.5 sacks,

7.5 tackles for loss, and 7.5 total tackles. Beers not only recorded those figures but scored four offensive touchdowns. Beers received offers from Northern Colorado and Missouri Western State before deciding to play football for FIU, according to Peter Warren of On3.
