Sam Hartman's Six Touchdowns in Wake Forest's Loss To Clemson Tied an ACC Record!

In the loss to Clemson on Saturday, Wake Forest quarterback Sam Hartman was exceptional. Although Hartman’s Demon Deacons side lost the game in a thrilling two-overtime contest, that result should not detract from the outstanding performance he delivered. According to The Athletic, Hartman’s six touchdowns versus Clemson tied the ACC single-game record.

Unreal. Two weeks after throwing for four touchdowns in Wake Forest’s victory against Vanderbilt, quarterback Sam Hartman equaled the Atlantic Coast Conference record with six touchdown passes against Georgia Tech.

Hartman threw every conceivable pass, from deep out to red zone daggers, against a Clemson football defense that was widely considered to be among the finest in the country.

Well, Hartman was the star, slicing apart the Tigers’ secondary in a performance worthy of the Heisman. Fans of the Demon Deacons are relieved to see him healthy after worrying about his status throughout the 2022 season.

Sam Hartman was sidelined indefinitely on August 10 due to Paget-Schroetter Syndrome. The quarterback for the Wake Forest football team had surgery to have a blood clot in his subclavian vein removed.

And now, Sam Hartman is out there nearly guiding his team to a victory over one of the finest teams in the country.

The fact that he is not only back on the field but is also rapidly becoming one of the top quarterbacks in the country has to give Wake Forest fans a sense of relief and pride, given that it was unclear when he would return to the team.

As long as Sam Hartman continues to lead from the quarterback position, good things should happen for the Wake Forest football team.
