For the first time since 2017, the Detroit Lions concluded the season with a winning record. Penei Sewell, a right tackle for the Detroit Lions, thinks the Motor City’s future is promising after shattering the “Same Old Lions” myth.
Sewell did his exit interviews on Monday, much like many other Lions. Despite the fact that the offseason has just begun, the Oregon product is eager to start the 2023 campaign.
“Man, I really can’t wait for the upcoming season. This season was too short, according to Sewell, who spoke on Monday. “I believe there is significantly more on the table than we can obtain. There is no doubt that we’ll visit the following year.
The Lions missed the playoffs despite having a winning record at the end of the season. Shortly before their Sunday Night Football game against the Green Bay Packers began, they were eliminated.
“The future of (the Lions) is as bright as the sun. That is something that I firmly believe. On Monday, Sewell said, “I was truly a part of something extraordinary.
“I was truly apart of something special. I thank Dan Campbell, Brad Holmes for bringing me here, because I truly can’t see my life anywhere else.”

Amon-Ra St. Brown, a colleague of Sewell’s on the Lions, agreed. The second-year receiver thinks that both veteran players and up-and-comers alike make up Detroit’s locker room.

“I think our youth group is fairly unique. The elder players that we had also, I believe, aided the young guys throughout the entire year, according to St. Brown.
With a 9-8 record, the Lions have a lot to be happy about this off-season. Detroit holds the sixth overall pick due to the Los Angeles Rams, in addition to their stellar season. The Matthew Stafford deal from two years ago netted the pick for the Lions.
