Thursday night at home, the Seattle Seahawks were defeated 21-13 by Brock Purdy and the San Francisco 49ers after failing to stop the team’s oncoming freight train. According to Stacy Jo Rost of Seattle Sports, head coach Pete Carroll said that wide receiver Tyler Lockett has a hand injury that might likely keep him out for the remainder of the 2022 NFL season.
WR Tyler Lockett, according to Pete Carroll, shattered a bone in his hand. Playing without Tyler is unthinkable to me. They say they’ll miss him, but they don’t specify how long they’ll *be* missing him (or perhaps they don’t know yet). If they miss the playoffs, IR would terminate his season.
Lockett still managed 68 receiving yards on seven catches off of nine targets to win the game. His remarkable streak of six games with a touchdown was ended when he was unable to score.
The Seahawks’ 30-year-old wide receiver remains one of their most reliable offensive weapons, so losing him for even a little amount of time could hamper their already dwindling prospects of making the NFL playoffs in 2022. Despite their loss to the 49ers, which also eliminated their prospects of winning then, the Seahawks are still in the running for an NFC wild-card spot.

The Seahawks will have to put more pressure on wideout DK Metcalf, who had 55 receiving yards on seven catches and nine targets in the loss to the 49ers if Lockett is ultimately forced to miss time.
The Kansas City Chiefs will be waiting for the Seahawks at Arrowhead Stadium in Week 15, and they have only gone 1-3 in their last four games. Pete Carroll provides a devastating Tyler Lockett injury update following the 49er’s defeat
