The Philadelphia Eagles are taking no chances this season as they try to win the Super Bowl. The Eagles are allegedly in talks with another outstanding DT after earlier this week recruiting two-time Pro Bowl defensive lineman Linval Joseph to bolster the run defence.

The Eagles have reportedly signed veteran free agent DT Ndamukong Suh in an effort to add him to the roster and strengthen the defence even more, according to Adam Schefter.

According to Schefter, Suh and the Eagles agreed on a one-year contract on Thursday, before Philadelphia’s game against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 11. The Eagles swiftly addressed the problem by adding the 35-year-old after giving up 152 rushing yards to the Commanders in their season-opening defeat.

Javon Hargrave and the seasoned Fletcher Cox are the Eagles’ starting defensive tackles. Although Cox is a Philadelphia legend, his recent performances have been notably below standard, and the Eagles might want to move him into a more rotating role. The addition of seasoned veterans like Suh and Joseph should ease that adjustment a little bit while also giving the Eagles’ defence a wealth of run-stopping expertise.

Suh’s last game was with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2021. Last season, he played in all 17 games and finished with 27 tackles, 6.0 sacks, and 12 quarterback hits. Over the course of his 12-year career, he has 212 QB hits, 590 tackles, and 70.5 sacks in 191 career games.

The Eagles are 20th in the NFL in terms of running yardage allowed per game with 124.8. But it has increased to 154.7 yards per game over the last three games. The acquisitions of Suh and Joseph show that the Eagles are fully committed to the season and their pursuit of a championship.
