Ace's £17 M Price Targeted By Tottenham

Spurs and Serie A whizkid Destiny Udogie have ‘approached top-level teams’ like Tottenham Hotspur, according to Tuttomercatoweb’s Destiny Udogie.

A move to one of those “top-level clubs” for the Italy U21 international will have to wait. It’s good news for Udogie that his 20th birthday is still some months away.

Fabio Paratici, the Spurs director with many connections in the Italian game, allegedly met with the teenager’s representatives earlier this month to explore a possible summer transfer to North London.

That was before Udinese director Pierpaolo Marino, fresh from Hellas Verona, ruled out selling Udogie after only a year in the job. Marino added, “We’re not used to selling our abilities after just one season.”

The thought of Udogie’s departure this summer is difficult for me to bear. Hopefully, after another season with us, we’ll have a better understanding of what he’s worth. There is a lot of uncertainty about (his current market value) after just one season,” Spurs and Serie A whizkid Destiny Udogie have ‘approached top-level teams’ like Tottenham Hotspur, according to Tuttomercatoweb’s Destiny Udogie.

An alleged meeting between representatives of the teenager and Spurs director Fabio Paratici, who is well-connected in the Italian game, was reported by Sky Sports earlier this month.

At the time, Udinese director Pierpaolo Marino had not yet ruled out selling Udogie after arriving from Hellas Verona just 12 months prior to this decision.

According to Marino, “we’re not used to selling our abilities after just one season.”

In the past few months, Tuttosport claims, Udinese has rejected proposals from Tottenham and Juventus as well.

With five goals and three assists in 22/2022 for Zebrette, the price tag on Udogie, a left-wing back with an attacking bent who would be perfect in Antonio Conte’s 3-5-2 style, rose to over £17 million.

When Udogie gets approached by top-tier clubs, he says, “it is extremely good.”

“When I wake up in the morning, my mind wanders to the football field. My agents consider the market when making decisions. They are privy to my innermost thoughts and can count on my unwavering confidence.”

Mauricio Pochettino has already been signed by Tottenham this summer. Antonio Conte has re-signed Ivan Perisic, one of the best players in Serie A last season, after a stellar season with Inter Milan.
