Darius Slay

The Philadelphia Eagles have added AJ Brown as a top wide receiver to complement Jalen Hurts in their passing attack, one of many clubs to do so. Together they are getting more practice time with the Miami Dolphins, another team with a new star-wide receiver.

The video showed Tyreek Hill making a catch after beating Eagles cornerback Darius Slay, who appeared to be injured in the play, which was released online by Miami news anchor Clay Ferraro of WPLG Local 10. Brown had something to say about it, and he wasn’t trying to start a fight or make anyone angry, but he did. He asked for video footage of Eagles players roughing up Dolphins players.

AJ Brown suggested that he was only sticking up for his team when he called out the Miami-based reporter; he was not attempting to provoke any kind of fight. The joint practice gave him at least one highlight to share, as he made a spectacular one-handed catch over Pro Bowler Xavien Howard.

Brown brings not only ferocity but also a great skill, which will help the Eagles. Along with DeVonta Smith, Quez Watkins, and Dallas Goedert, his physicality provides Hurts with another reliable option in the passing game. Two times in the last three years, Brown has over 1,000 yards. His 869 yards from the previous season came on just 63 receptions, but they resulted in five touchdowns.

On Saturday, the Eagles and Dolphins will play a preseason game against one other. AJ Brown will play in his debut game for the Eagles in Week 1 against the Detroit Lions, and he will also host the Vikings in Week 2. He cannot wait to experience the passion of the Philadelphia fans and return the favor on the field.

The Philadelphia Eagles’ training camps are always fascinating to watch because of the interplay between two forces that, at first glance, seem to be at odds with one another. To achieve their aim, players must cooperate with one another and challenge one another.

Although rookies and younger players are working hard to make the team, they often have to compete with veterans who are locked to make the squad and, in some situations, are asked to teach those same veterans.

Have you ever been in a situation where you had to train someone to do a job you felt was rightfully yours? The same thing happens in an NFL locker room, but the Eagles might be in good shape if second-year player Zech McPhearson has as successful a career as we’ve seen Darius Slay have.
