Antonee Robinson Injury

After starting the new European season as one of the best defenders in the United States men’s national team pool, Fulham’s Antonee Robinson went down with an injury on Saturday against Tottenham and did not return.

On Saturday, Robinson suffered a non-contact ankle injury in the first half and had to be replaced in Marco Silva’s starting lineup in the 29th minute. When Robinson got frustrated and worried about his upcoming international service this month, Kevin Mbabu came in and took over at left back.

In Fulham’s first five league games this season, the 25-year-old had played 450 minutes, contributing to triumphs over Brighton & Hove Albion and Brentford in recent weeks. Even though he didn’t play in Fulham’s August EFL Cup loss to Crawley Town, he’s been a mainstay in the starting lineup since Fulham’s return to the Premier League

We have to wait till tomorrow to see how he is, and then we have to take it day by day,” Silva stated after the game. It’s too soon to talk about it, but I hope it’s nothing major and that he’ll be good to go for next week.

Since joining Fulham in August 2020, Robinson has made 74 total appearances on the field. He also has professional experience with Wigan Athletic and Bolton Wanderers.

During the previous year, he has made significant advancements in his role with the USMNT, garnering a total of 29 caps and scoring twice. After missing the 2014 World Cup due to a suspension, Robinson was a mainstay for Gregg Berhalter’s squad as they qualified for the tournament for the first time since then.

The United States national soccer team’s final two exhibition games before the 2018 FIFA World Cup are scheduled for September 23 and 27, respectively, against Japan and Saudi Arabia.

In terms of citizenship, Robinson could have chosen either England or the United States. He grew up in the town of Milton Keynes, England. His father was a British citizen who was born in England but was raised in White Plains, New York.

Robinson’s paternal grandmother is from Jamaica, hence he is also of mixed ancestry. At the age of 18, Robinson earned his first national team cap for the United States. He was also called up to the U.S. U-20 team but did not earn a cap for his country.

On May 28, 2018, he made his debut for the United States senior team in a 3-0 friendly win against Bolivia. He played the whole 90 minutes and recorded an assist.
