Because Adam Duvall did not break any bones in his wounded hand, Atlanta Braves fans may rest easy now. Saturday’s game against the Cincinnati Reds was cut short when Duvall was struck by a pitch and had to be substituted.
Braves manager Brian Snitker removed Adam Duvall from the game after he was thrown out on the bases path for the second time in as many games. He would later return to Atlanta to have his hand examined. At least the scans turned up negative, which is great news.

The Athletic’s David O’Brien claimed that the Braves will not place Duvall on the IL due to his day-to-day status. Adam Duvall’s hand is in good hands for the Atlanta Braves.
Due to the fact that the Braves had just completed a short road trip, it made sense for Atlanta to bring Duvall back to Atlanta a day early to have his injured hand examined. During the Fourth of July, the Atlanta Braves and St. Louis Cardinals will begin a four-game series. Atlanta hopes to have Duvall back in the lineup against the Redbirds at some time in this series.

This week, Atlanta avoided placing Ronald Acua Jr. on the IL because of the foul on his left foot that occurred last week. For his comeback to the lineup against the Reds, he started out in the right field before switching to become the designated hitter. The Braves’ excellent outfield is poised to get even better with Eddie Rosario’s return from an eye injury. Please don’t put Marcell Ozuna in left field.
In light of the development of Michael Harris II in centerfield, the Braves can take their time re-inserting Duvall. Because it is a hand, it may take him longer than with Aqua to return. When it comes to Duvall’s injury, both he and the Braves are extremely fortunate that he did not break any bones in his hand. Because otherwise, he’d be out for a long time.
Duvall might make a comeback for the Braves at some point during their next homestand.
The Atlanta Braves acquired Duvall in a deal in which they received Alex Jackson in return. Due to the conclusion of a suspended game on September 24, 2021, Duvall and Hudson became the first players in Major League Baseball history to participate in two games for four teams on the same day.
When the Miami Marlins and Washington Nationals met on July 21, 2021, Duvall and Hudson played for the respective teams. The Braves–Padres game had been postponed, and when it started on September 24, 2021, Hudson had joined the Padres, and Duvall had been a Brave.
This season, Duvall slugged 38 home runs and struck out 174 times while leading the National League in runs scored with 113. In the majors, he recorded a 52.69 percent fly-ball rate, the most in the league.
He blasted a two-out, first-inning grand slam on the first pitch from starting pitcher Framber Valdez in the fifth game of the 2021 World Series, giving the Braves a 4-0 lead. A 5-9 loss was enough to bring this series to a decisive sixth game, which was played in Atlanta. But the Braves prevailed in the penultimate game, bringing the team its first championship since 1995 and giving Duvall his first career World Series victory. This year, right fielder Duvall was named the National League Gold Glove Award winner.
