Pierre-Emerick After taking a hit and breaking his jaw, Aubameyang has provided an update on his injury status. On the last day of the transfer window, the 33-year-old striker signed a two-year deal with Chelsea that includes an additional year’s option.
Thomas Tuchel was instrumental in bringing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to west London this summer, as the club was looking to replace Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner in the number nine position. The ex-Chelsea manager was rumored to have targeted the ex-Arsenal captain as a top target.
Although Aubameyang’s injury concerns persist, Tuchel has been replaced by Graham Potter, who presents a new challenge. With an injury, the former Gabon international began in Chelsea’s first game under their new manager.
And now that Aubameyang has had some time to rest and recuperate over the international break, he has provided an update on his ailment. The striker made these comments to Chelsea’s internal media: “I’m going to require some additional time. My fitness level is not optimal. A mask and an injury make it difficult to play, but I’m working hard to get back to full strength as quickly as possible.”

Aubameyang’s transition to living in west London has not been smooth. Tuchel was fired as head coach a week after moving his team from Camp Nou to Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge.
As for the striker, Kepa Arrizabalaga claims he was “a little in shock.” The Blues keeper, as reported by The Sun, said: “Actually, he arrived on the island with more than a little apprehension. His life had undergone considerable upheaval over the past few days, and he had experienced nothing but bad luck.”

With Armando Broja’s strong performance off the bench for Chelsea in their final game before the international break, Potter now faces a difficult decision. Could this be the right opportunity for the Cobham grad to gain traction while Aubameyang recovers from his injuries?
Aubameyang scored the game-winning goal in Arsenal’s 1-0 season-opening win over Newcastle United at St. James’s Park. He did it by displaying superb technique to cushion a cross from Ainsley Maitland-Niles and slotting the ball past Martin Dbravka; José Mourinho called it a “moment of genius.” On August 17, during Arsenal’s 2-1 win over Burnley at home, Aubameyang scored his first goal of the season.
The game-winning goal was scored by Aubameyang with help from Dani Ceballos. Aubameyang scored Arsenal’s opening goal of the Europa League season on the road against Eintracht Frankfurt on September 19 to give the Gunners a 3-0 victory.
The five goals scored by Aubameyang in September earned him the Premier League Player of the Month accolade. Among his tallies were game-tying goals against Tottenham and Manchester United, as well as the game-winning goal against Aston Villa.
Aubameyang was named the new Arsenal captain by head coach Unai Emery on 5 November 2019, after Granit Xhaka was removed from the position after an outburst during the team’s Premier League match against Crystal Palace.
