Chris Eubank Jr. responded after learning that his fight with Conor Benn has been postponed.
The fight was scheduled to take place on Saturday night at the O2 Arena in London but was cancelled after it turned out that Benn had failed a drug test.
The British Boxing Board of Control [BBBoC] had “prohibited” the fight, but the event’s promoters still tried to go forward with it.
Matchroom Boxing and Wasserman Boxing eventually gave down and issued a statement announcing the fight’s cancellation after seeking legal action to circumvent the BBBoC.
We have decided to officially postpone the fight between Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn after consulting with various parties, the statement said.
It cannot be disputed that the British Boxing Board of Control acted improperly and without due process in its decision to revoke sanctioning.
We still want to pursue that legal matter between the promoters and the Board.
“However, while there are legal avenues to help the fight go as planned, we do not believe that it is in the combatants’ or the sport’s overall interests for those to be explored at this late point.

We take our responsibilities as promoters very seriously, so a thorough investigation will now be required.
We won’t be making any more comments at this time, but we’ll have information on ticketholder reimbursements soon.
In response to the cancellation confirmation, Eubank Jr. swiftly tweeted: “Conor got found utilising an illegal substance hence the fight is off.
“It’s hard to believe. I sincerely apologise to the supporters and everyone who purchased tickets, travelled, and made hotel reservations; this should not have happened.
For the time being, he has escaped from school.
