Lucas Patrick Injury

Going into training camp, the offensive line for the Chicago Bears was a big question mark. Because of Lucas Patrick’s signing, the center wasn’t one of them.

Even so, Patrick was taken out of practice Thursday with an injury, according to several reports. However, Patrick did not leave the dressing room without his trainers.

Dieter Eiselen is working with the second squad, while rookie Doug Kramer has taken his place at the center.

Patrick inked a two-year contract worth $8 million, with $4 million guaranteed for the first season. Because he’ll be handing the ball off to quarterback Justin Fields, Patrick has some familiarity with Luke Getsy’s offense.

Because of this, Lucas Patrick was forced to abandon today’s session early on in the game. Trainer Andre Tucker accompanied him as he exited the field. However, I went to the locker room with the cart. The changing room is a considerable distance from the practice field.

Teven Jenkins, the offensive tackle, hasn’t been seen at Thursday’s practice either. After practice, offensive coordinator Luke Getsy had no further information on Patrick.

To make matters worse, the offensive line appeared to have suffered another setback only minutes after learning that Teven Jenkins will not be attending Thursday’s practice session. After practice on Thursday, Chicago Bears center Lucas Patrick and trainer Andre Tucker were reportedly seen leaving together.

During the offseason, Patrick signed a two-year contract with the Bears. Patrick spent his whole professional career with the Packers until signing with the Chicago Bears. As a result, the Bears’ young offensive players will benefit from Patrick’s presence under new offensive coordinator Luke Getsy. Though it is discouraging to watch the Bears starting center, a vital piece in the offensive line, go down with a possible injury.

Taking Patrick’s place on the field is newcomer and former University of Illinois standout Doug Kramer. Ryan Poles’ stash of late-round linemen could pay off if starters keep falling like flies during the NFL Draft’s chaotic final day. We’ll keep you apprised of any further developments regarding Patrick’s health.
