Clement Lenglet

Clement Lenglet’s departure from Barcelona appears imminent as he looks set to join Tottenham on loan from the Premier League. Tottenham is the greatest choice for the defender, according to Catalunya Radio, and he’ll move if a deal can be struck.

Marca is even more thrilled about the trade and believes that Lenglet is only “one step away” from leaving Barcelona and moving to north London. “Advanced discussions” are alleged to be taking place between the two teams, with Roma seemingly losing interest in the Frenchman. According to Catalunya Radio, the defender has opted to join Tottenham if the two teams can come to an agreement on a transfer fee. Meanwhile, the Spanish publication Marca believes that Lenglet is “one step away” from leaving Barcelona for north London.

In “advanced conversations,” Roma is alleged to have discontinued its interest in signing the France international. A loan deal for Clement Lenglet from Barcelona is one of Tottenham’s options this summer, but he isn’t the club’s lone goalkeeper target.

The most likely destination for Lenglet, if the France international leave the Nou Camp this summer, has been named by a source close to the negotiations as Tottenham Hotspur. The 27-year-old isn’t the only defender Spurs are interested in as they aim to add a left-footed defender to their back three.

Fabio Paratici, Tottenham’s managing director of football, prefers to set up multiple transactions before deciding on the best one, and Pau Torres, Alessandro Bastoni, and Josko Gvardiol are all targets.

Clement Lenglet’s proposed transfer to Tottenham is claimed to be ‘on the verge of completion.’ Antonio Conte is looking for new players this summer as the club prepares for a Champions League campaign following their fourth-place finish in the Premier League.

Lenglet has emerged as the leading prospect to bolster the defense for the Spurs. Despite Lenglet’s recent decline in form, Barcelona is willing to let him leave this summer.

Despite this, the transfer will be a loan, with the defender first signing on a short-term basis while staying under contract at Barcelona until 2026. While Richarlison is expected to sign a £50 million deal with Tottenham, The Athletic claims an agreement is ‘near’ on a loan deal.

With 105 La Liga outings under his belt, one league title, and a Copa del Rey to his credit, Lenglet has been with Barca since 2018. Ben Davies, Davinson Sanchez, and Eric Dier now form a back three, and the Frenchman will be hoping to break into it.
