Damian Lillard’s

The New Orleans Pelicans and Damian Lillard’s team did fairly well without him as they faced Zion Williamson on Thursday. The Portland Trail Blazers recorded their third straight victory, which caused Dame to react pretty strongly.

Lillard immediately posted on Twitter his admirable response to the Blazers’ latest triumph:

The team’s effort in this game, which ended with a 106-95 victory over the Pels, clearly delighted Lillard.

The Blazers were led by Jerami Grant, who scored 27 points on 10-of-20 shooting. In addition, the new Portland recruit had a total of eight rebounds, four assists, four steals, a block, and four 3-pointers. Anfernee Simons also delivered for his side, scoring 23 points while making five triples and six assists.

On Wednesday, Zion Williamson scored a game-high 29 points on 9 of 14 field goal attempts, making him seem like an invincible force. The Blazers prevailed over the Pelicans at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans despite the top player for the Pelicans’ scoring spree.

Portland, which is currently 9-3 to start the season, has Friday off before playing again against Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday. In what promises to be a thrilling matchup between two of the best point guards in the game right now, Dame should be ready to go for that one. After losing their previous two games, the Mavs are also desperate for a victory, but the Blazers undoubtedly want to continue their winning streak.
