A deal was struck during the NBA Draft on Thursday night between the Philadelphia 76ers and the New York Knicks. A report from Shams Charania of The Athletic claims that De’Anthony Melton has been acquired by the 76ers in exchange for Danny Green and the No. 23 overall selection. A two-year veteran in Philadelphia, Green had a career year, averaging nearly six points and three rebounds per game.
His three-point shooting percentage was 38 percent, and he made 39 percent of his shots overall. Previously, Green played for the LA Lakers, Toronto Raptors, San Antonio Spurs, and Cleveland Cavaliers before joining the 76ers in 2013.
This is Melton’s third season as an All-Star for Memphis, as the forward averaged over 11 points per game. He also shot 40.4 percent from the floor and 37.4 percent from long range. At the end of his career, he’s averaged 8.4 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and a career shooting percentage of 40.9 percent;

The Memphis Grizzlies are expected to acquire David Roddy’s contract, according to reports. Out of Colorado State, he was drafted 23rd.
Memphis got to the Western Conference semi-finals by averaging 10.8 points per game from Melton this season. Next season, he will earn $8.25 million, and in 2023-24, he will get $8 million.
He has averaged 8.4 points per game on 40.9 percent shooting and 36.1 percent from 3-point range, as well as 3.6 rebounds and 2.8 assists, over his career. Second-round pick Melton was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies by the Phoenix Suns as part of a multi-team deal following just one season in Arizona.
At the end of the season, Roddy was named to the Associated Press All-America second team and the Mountain West Player of the Year after scoring 19.4 points per game while also pulling down 7.6 rebounds, dishing out 2.8 assists, stealing 1.2 bags, and blocking one shot.
