Dez Bryant Slams League Officials for Their Handling of CTE Issues that Affected Demaryius Thomas!

To respond to the revelation that late Denver Broncos wideout Demaryius Thomas has been diagnosed posthumously with Stage 2 CTE, former NFL wide receiver Dez Bryant said “a lot” of current and former NFL players are “living with CTE.”

“When I hear DT88, my heart starts to race… a large number of NFL players have CTE, and the league is aware of this… As a result, the Athletes who suffer from these symptoms are hesitant to open up about their condition. One thing about me is that I don’t lead a fictitious existence… My admiration for and support for athletes goes much beyond that of most people…” Posted on Instagram by Bryant.

After a person’s death, CTE can be diagnosed. These sportsmen have been found to be at an increased risk of developing a neurodegenerative illness, which has been related to recurrent head trauma. An American Medical Association Journal published a study in 2017 that revealed chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) has affected the brains of all former NFL players.

Researchers found a correlation between exposure to football and the likelihood of having the disease, according to main author Jesse Mez at the time of the study’s publication.

Researchers admit that families of athletes with CTE are more inclined to donate blood to the study, which could lead to a higher donation rate. However, the link between contact sports and neurological diseases is already well-established.

Degenerative neurological condition CTE can cause mood swings, memory loss, and other symptoms associated with Parkinson’s disease.

Boston University neuropathology director Dr. Ann McKee told Good Morning America that Thomas had the same symptoms as other young players. “Brain degeneration is starting to occur because of several lesions in the frontal and temporal lobe. He was found to have chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE). The second phase.”

During a seizure episode, Thomas suffered heart arrest and died in December 2021. Thomas’ parents told GMA that he was suffering from memory loss and paranoia, but McKee acknowledged that his death was unrelated to his postmortem CTE diagnosis.

“Death is not directly caused by CTE. CTE doesn’t cause death. Changes in how you interact with others are what CTE does “McKee said this. The Fulton County (Georgia) Coroner’s Office has yet to determine the cause of Thomas’ death, although doctors at Boston University believe he died after a seizure.
