Even though November is practically upon us, Dwight Howard is still unsigned. The Golden State Warriors, who are now the league’s defending champions, is one of the teams that the eight-time All-Star already has in mind.
Howard recently presented several persuasive reasons why Stephen Curry and the Warriors should give him significant consideration when adding him to their roster in an interview with Shannon Sharpe for his Club Shay Shay podcast. The youthful Warriors center James Wiseman, in the opinion of the former Los Angeles Lakers big man, would be one of the major beneficiaries of his arrival:
Howard reacted to the prospect of joining Golden State by saying, “Oh man, that’s amazing.” Dwight Howard here. Since Wiseman is on the path to becoming a great big guy, he can learn a lot from me.
But it’s not just about Wiseman. Additionally, according to Howard, Curry would succeed even more if he were present:
“Steph, he’s going to get more wide open, the way he gets open with me creating screens,” Howard remarked. “Klay [Thompson] in a similar manner. In the pick-and-roll game with him and me, Draymond [Green]. I was able to instruct Wiseman’s defense in shot-blocking.
Dwight Howard made it crystal obvious that he’s not finished yet and would love to play at least another year, a sort of farewell, if you will: He said, “I would love to play season 19 and win.” “I very certainly would love to do it. That would be fantastic, and I would receive the proper procession.

Dwight Howard may not be the MVP front-runner he once was, but there’s no denying that he still has a lot to offer. Should the Warriors give this man their full attention?
