Is this a brand-new Lego game? Funko Fusion, an anticipated triple-A action platformer game with Funk Pop renditions of “characters from [fans] favorite cult classic films and TV series,” following in Lego’s footsteps.
A partnership between Funko Fusion and 10:10 Games, which was first revealed in July at the San Diego Comic-Con, is co-producing the game. Funko claims that this is only its initial foray into the enormous console video game market. By working together with Universal Games and Digital Platforms, Funko will be able to include well-known NBCUniversal brands and characters into the game.
“Fans can expect an unparalleled gaming experience with characters from their favorite cult classic films and TV series,” says Funk CEO Andrew Perimutter. “Funko is known for exceptional in-person and digital experiences that excite and fully engage fans, and Funko Fusion will be no exception. We’re building something with Funatics in mind, Easter eggs and all.”
Along with other assets, Funko Fusion will include several NBCUniversal franchises, exhibiting historic moments and uniting fandoms. Although a specific release date has not yet been announced, the game
Is being created with Unreal Engine 5 and is planned for eventual release on PC and next-generation consoles. Although the game will also include a single-player option, it is advertised as having a co-op mode that allows up to four players to play together online.
Lego video games have been successful in producing games with Lego recreations of well-known pop culture figures. It will be interesting to see how Funko Fusion performs in the same environment and whether it can match Lego’s lightning in a bottle. In addition, we merely wish that this game wouldn’t have any pointless toys-to-life elements.
