Harold Landry Injury

The Tennessee Titans outside linebacker Harold Antonio Landry III (born June 5, 1996) plays for the National Football League’s (NFL) Cleveland Browns (NFL). After graduating from Boston College’s football program, the Tennessee Titans selected him in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

Injury

The ACL of Harold Landry III, an outside linebacker for the Tennessee Titans, was torn on Wednesday, a source informed ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Last year, Landry recorded a career-high 12 sacks and led the Titans in that category. He was the first Titans pass rusher to reach double digits in sacks since Brian Orakpo in 2015.

Landry had 12 total sacks, the third-most of any pass rusher, and 7 of those came on third down. In addition to his 49 quarterback pressures, 22 quarterback hits, 21 quarterback hurries, and 14 tackles for loss, Landry also had a strong day.

While playing for the Titans in the 2021 divisional round, Landry recorded three sacks, helping the team tie the playoff record for most sacks in a game with nine. As a member of the Titans, he was one of three players selected for the All-Star Game.

When it comes to playing time, Landry has been one of the Titans’ most reliable players. Next Gen Stats shows that he played in 89.5 percent of the Titans’ defensive snaps last year.

During the month of March, the Titans re-signed Landry to a five-year, $87.5 million contract with a whopping $52.5 million guaranteed. To replace Landry, Tennessee will likely start either second-year outside linebacker Rashad Weaver or experienced edge defender Ola Adeniyi.

Weaver has been “working pretty hard,” according to Titans GM Jon Robinson. He’s been here nonstop, and he’s feeling better and more energized every day. He has been itching to get out into the field, and I can feel it.

It’s possible that undrafted free agent David Anenih may be promoted from the practice squad to replace Landry on the active roster.
