Jake Burger Injury

The Chicago White Sox’s Jacob Michael Burger (b. April 10, 1996) plays third base for the White Sox in Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his Major League Baseball debut in 2021.

Jake Burger Injury

They’ve been averaging one injury per game this season for the 2022 Chicago White Sox, which is a lot. Much though the White Sox already had a tonne of injuries, things got even worse on Monday night when Jake Burger sustained a bruised hand during the game.

After x-rays came back negative, Burger’s rumor is that it’s only a bruised hand. Unexpectedly, Burger’s hand was hit by a fly ball when he was swinging his bat.

Burger did indeed go around with the bat. A pitch missed him, but he got a strike. Took an x-ray in the dugout after the game. Seby Zavala filled in as the designated hitter later in the game when his turn to bat arose (which was the position that Burger was playing).

That the White Sox don’t lose Burger is critical for them. He is one of their most potent offensive weapons at the present moment. Whenever Jake appears to be in the box, it appears that he is hitting the ball really hard. Without question, he’s the team’s best offensive player, so losing him for an extended period of time would hurt.

We don’t know yet if he will miss any time. It’ll all come down to how the hand feels tomorrow and the following few days. When Andrew Vaughn went down with a similar injury, he had to sit out for some time. We can only hope that Burger will be absent for a short period of time.

Career

At the 2017 Major League Baseball draught, Burger was one of the most highly anticipated players available.

As the 11th overall pick in the first round, he was signed by the Chicago White Sox, who then sent him to the Arizona League White Sox, where he is currently playing. After just four games, he was promoted to the Kannapolis Intimidators. In 51 games played for both teams last year, he batted.263, hit five home runs, and drove in 29 RBIs.

He was given an invitation to the White Sox’s spring training camp for next year. His left Achilles tendon was ruptured on February 26 and he has been ruled out for the whole 2018 season.  When he was injured this year, he had to sit out the entire season.

To make up for the lack of a minor league season in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Burger joined the Car Shield Collegiate League, a collegiate summer league in nearby O’Fallon. Since 2017, he had not participated in a baseball tournament. As soon as the summer league concluded, Burger was invited to join the White Sox at their alternate training facility.

The burger was promoted to the 40-man roster on November 20, 2020. The 2021 season began with him being assigned to the Charlotte Knights of the Triple-A level. After Nick Madrigal suffered a season-ending injury, Burger resumed playing second base for the Charlotte Checkers. When the All-Star Futures Game will be held in June of 2021, Burger has been selected to play. Burger got promoted to the majors for the first time on July 2 after batting.322 in the minors.
