Jeremy Sochan Sign

NBA Draft No. 9 overall pick Jeremy Sochan was taken by San Antonio Spurs from Baylor University. The San Antonio Spurs have a lengthy history of making elite defenders into all-around threats. With Kawhi Leonard, they were able to do this. Bruce Bowen was the one who pulled it off. Sochan, one of the strongest defenders in this class, will be the one to attempt and stop them. An athletic 6-9 Sochan has the ability to defend anyone and should be an ideal fit in the NBA’s switch-heavy league.

We give the former Baylor standout’s selection an A- because our CBS Sports NBA Draft experts see him as an ideal Spurs draught pick who can be a nuisance on defense while still developing his offensive game.

One-and-done top-20 draught picks like Sochan are extremely unusual. Aside from his ability to guard numerous positions, he also has the potential to shoot the ball, making him a highly intriguing prospect and one of the draft’s most versatile players. A lot can be learned from the fact that the San Antonio Spurs are taking him, even if it isn’t what I would have done. First-rate

Despite his lack of scoring ability, he possesses excellent ball skills and is adept at playing in the open field. In this case, the Spurs have one of the top shooting coaches in the NBA in Chip Engelland who is the primary red flag in his shot. I think San Antonio is the best place for maximizing Sochan.

Tim Duncan was selected in the 1997 NBA lottery by the San Antonio Spurs, and he would go on to play in the playoffs for the following 23 years. As with everything worthwhile, the good times must come to an end, and on Thursday night, the Spurs entered their third consecutive draught lottery. Neither of their prior two picks has become a breakout star. However, Josh Primo was always going to be a work in progress for Devin Vassell.

DeJounte Murray, a No. 29 overall choice by the Spurs, has become an All-Star. That’s exactly what they’re known for doing. Leonard finished in a disappointing 15th place. Tony Parker was selected in the 28th round, falling just short of the top spot. It was Manu Ginobili’s final appearance at the top of the rankings. Because of their position in the draught, the Spurs now have a better chance than ever before to find young talent. Any pick the Spurs make that is half as good as Leonard, Parker, or Ginobili is regarded as a success.
