After the Green Bay Packers’ catastrophic 40-33 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night, they now only have a 3% chance of making the playoffs. Whatever the case, Aaron Rodgers isn’t quite ready to give up just yet.

Rodgers was forced to take an early shower after taking a severe blow in the third quarter of the Eagles game. The ace quarterback for the Packers originally attempted to play despite the discomfort, but it was only a matter of time before he had to leave the field with a rib injury.

After the injury, Jordan Love replaced Aaron Rodgers, and he almost set up Green Bay for an unlikely comeback in the fourth quarter. The 24-year-old completed 6-of-9 throws for 113 yards and a touchdown as the game came to a close. The rookie quarterback put up a strong performance, making the most of his brief time on the field.

However, Aaron Rodgers has made it clearly apparent that he is not yet willing to give up the starting position to Love, even if the Packers are essentially out of the playoff race:

According to Packers beat reporter Matt Schneidman of The Athletic, Rodgers added, “I’d like to go out there as long as we’re mathematically alive.”

However, Rodgers did mention that after the Packers are declared the losers of the race, he might be ready to do so:

After being eliminated, “there are obviously a lot of other things that come into play, and I’ll be open to all those conversations,” Rodgers continued.
