Josko Gvardiol

The transfer deadline is this Thursday, and Chelsea is hoping to sign RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol for €90 million. Manchester City and Tottenham, two of Europe’s biggest teams, have been keeping tabs on 20-year-old Gvardiol this summer, but Leipzig isn’t eager to let him depart.

However, reports indicate that Chelsea is contemplating making a sizable offer, which would result in the Croatian international being loaned back to Leipzig for the remainder of the current season. Guardiola’s current contract is set to expire in 2026.

On Wednesday, Chelsea is expected to announce an €80 million deal to sign center defender Wesley Fofana from Leicester. The club is also in negotiations with Barcelona over a €25 million striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

On Monday morning, armed intruders came into Aubameyang’s residence and brutally attacked him. According to initial reports, neither Aubameyang nor his wife suffered any major injuries during the burglary at their home in Castelldefels, a suburb of Barcelona.

The couple’s children were reportedly present throughout the incident.  break his jaw during the burglary and will be out of action for about three weeks, which could delay his transfer to Chelsea.

On Tuesday, representatives from Barca and Chelsea met to discuss a possible transfer of Aubameyang, and they will do so again on Wednesday.

The Premier League club has made it clear from the beginning that they will not spend more than €20 million for the forward, while Barca has been demanding more than €25 million.

Arsenal and Everton have both shown interest in 21-year-old central midfielder Pawel Mudryk, but the Gunners have more pressing problems after the injuries to Mohamed Elneny and Thomas Partey.

Brentford is looking to cash in on this situation and is reportedly willing to spend €30 million for the winger. As a result of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, many of Shakhtar’s best players have already left the club.

The Memphonic Area Diario Sport reports that Depay, who has been linked with a move away from Barcelona for the entirety of this transfer window, is now expected to remain at Camp Nou.

The only thing that may possibly change that outcome today is a huge bid in the last hours of the transfer window, with Chelsea and his former club Manchester United being cited as options. Despite being linked to Juventus, the Netherlands international has not appeared in any of the Blaugrana’s three LaLiga matches so far this season.

Career

Josko Gvardiol

A member of the Croatian national under-21 team since he was 17, Gvardiol made his debut in October 2019 when coach Igor Bian included him in the squad for Under-21 Euro 2021 qualifiers against Lithuania and the Czech Republic.

Gvardiol made his debut on November 14 against the former opponent, when he was named to the starting lineup and helped Croatia to a 3-1 victory. He scored the game-winning goal in Croatia’s record-setting 10-0 victory over San Marino on October 8, 2020.

When Bian announced their 23-man roster for the tournament’s group stage on 9 March 2021, he was one of them. Unfortunately, a quadriceps injury caused him to sit out. On May 17, he was selected to both Zlatko Dali’s 26-man UEFA Euro 2020 roster and Bian’s 23-man team for the knockout stage.

On June 6th, he made his professional debut after being replaced in for Borna Barii at halftime of a 1-0 loss to Belgium in a friendly. A week later, in Croatia’s opening game of Euro 2020, they lost to England by a score of 1-0, and he made his debut for the national team.
