Justin Herbert Injury Update

After enduring a lot of discomfort Justin Herbert managed to finish the game. During the fourth quarter of the Chiefs and Chargers “Thursday Night Football” game, defensive end Mike Danna delivered a vicious hit to Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert, causing him significant pain.

It was obvious that Herbert was in difficulty when he left the game for a play and returned; Amazon cameras recorded him gesturing to his left side and he appeared to have trouble tossing the ball.

Even though he was only sacked twice, the Chargers quarterback took a lot of hits. The Chiefs’ defense pounded him four times, and at least two of those blows definitely hurt.

Though he was way off target down the stretch, Herbert finished the game for the Chargers and got them within a touchdown with 71 seconds left.

What We Know Now About Herbert’s Condition:

Update on the injury status of Justin Herbert

The Chiefs’ defensive end Mike Danna laid a heavy hit on Herbert in the fourth quarter of their “Thursday Night Football” game against the Chargers. After the game, LA coach Brandon Staley stated Herbert was “OK,” but that the team will learn more about Herbert’s condition on Friday.

The following is the status report that Staley promised to deliver on Friday afternoon: Rapoport tweeted his account of the conversation, in which he explained that Herbert had a rib cartilage fracture. A rib fracture would be worse, thus this is a good outcome.

Los Angeles’ starting quarterback is questionable at this time. According to Staley, Herbert will be able to train with the Chargers before their Week 3 home game against the Jaguars.

No quarterback at any level of football plays tougher or does more for his team than this guy “To paraphrase what Staley stated, “and will their team— there’s nobody who can do what he can do. Nobody. He was quite brave…he got us back in the game and gave us a second chance.

“Mike Williams remarked after the game, “That’s simply the mindset and the toughness that he has, to be going through whatever he was going through.” Also, “the quarterback is leading us by standing in there and making plays.”
