Kevin Durant Trade

Kyrie Irving opted into his deal extension with the Nets on Monday, just a few days after the Nets pulled off an incredible coup by getting Irving to opt into his contract extension. Recently, there have been rumors that Durant may be headed west, possibly to Portland, but according to many sources, the Suns are Durant’s top choice for a trade deal in the west.

The Nets’ GM, Sean Marks, and Durant’s agent, Rich Kleiman, are working together to locate a trade destination that both parties are comfortable with, and that will become clearer once NBA free agency begins.

A potential deal for the 33-year-old future Hall of Famer should be on the table for every NBA team this season. With the Nets unable to advance to the Eastern Conference finals, Durant will be seeking a team to deliver him the silverware his career so well deserves.

Because of Kevin Durant’s request to be traded by the Brooklyn Nets, one of the greatest players in NBA history is now officially on the market for trade. Durant is ready to begin a four-year contract extension that will pay him $194 million over the life of the agreement.

The Miami Heat and the Phoenix Suns are allegedly among the teams that Durant would love to play for. They were all top seeds in their respective conferences last year, but none made it all the way to the NBA Championship Series.

Speculation about Kevin Durant leaving the Nets began when the team declined to grant Kyrie Irving the long-term, max contract he wanted. Irving chose to extend his contract with Brooklyn for another year at a cost of $36 million.

Their time with the Nets has come to an end, as both players are very certain to be dealt this off-season. By Adrian Wojnarowski’s account, Durant had requested a trade from the Nets because they were unwilling to pay Irving the deal he wanted.

Prior to the previous season, the Nets were considered the overwhelming favorites to win the NBA title. A few months after that, the Nets were swept by the Boston Celtics in the NBA playoffs when Durant and Irving were both on the court at once, and James Harden was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers after he refused to take the Covid vaccination.
