Kliff Kingsbury, head coach of the Arizona Cardinals, felt the same way following his team’s remarkable comeback victory over the Las Vegas Raiders. After the Cardinals’ 29-23 overtime triumph, the head coach was spotted signaling to the Raiders’ fans in the stands that he was thirsty.

The Cardinals’ fourth-year head coach is not hard to refute on that point. Arizona put up another awful first half of football in 2022, and its supporters turned away in disgust as the Wildcats faced a 20-0 deficit at halftime. It was clear that the Raiders had the Cardinals pegged.

The Cardinals were on fire thanks to Kyler Murray and the rest of the defense before the red in Allegiant Stadium left.

Despite giving up 20 unanswered points to Las Vegas in the first half, Arizona’s defense found a new gear in the second half and overtime, surrendering only three points. Murray was able to assume command thanks to the unit’s success.

Murray scored a touchdown while passing for 188 yards in the second half to counteract the first half’s 53 yards and one interception. In the fourth quarter, when he wasn’t throwing touchdown passes out of the air, Murray was just as productive running the ball, gaining 28 yards and a touchdown.

The Cardinals’ defense finished off the comeback in overtime, with standout linebacker Isaiah Simmons forcing a fumble and cornerback Byron Murphy Jr. recovering it for a 59-yard score.

I was telling those trainers that on Sundays in Vegas, I normally have a terrible hangover since I have just lost. Kingsbury began his press conference with the phrase, “So, this was a good changeup.

The 2021 NFL season began with a victory for Kingsbury and the Cardinals, as they defeated the Tennessee Titans 38-13 on the road. The next week, on September 19, 2021, the Cardinals defeated the Minnesota Vikings 34-33 at home thanks to a missed field goal in overtime by the Vikings.

There have only been seven other 3-0 starts in Arizona Cardinals history, and this is only the fourth time a coach has led his club to three straight 2-0 starts. Several members of the Cardinals coaching staff, including Kingsbury, tested positive for COVID-19 on October 15, 2021, making them ineligible to lead their team in Week 6 against the Cleveland Browns.

During the game, defensive coordinator Vance Joseph and special teams coordinator Jeff Rodgers took over as head coaches and led the Cardinals to a 37-14 victory. The squad had an 11-6 regular season record, good for second place in the NFC West, but they were eliminated by the Rams in the first round of the playoffs, 11-34.
