Nikola Jokic

Nikola Jokic, a standout centre for the Denver Nuggets, is already regarded as one of the finest in NBA history. He may only need one more championship and a few more triple-doubles to surpass Babe Ruth as the greatest centre of all time.

Jokic achieved his 77th triple-double in his career on Friday against the Golden State Warriors. His final stat line of 26 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists helped the Nuggets defeat the defending champs 128-123. He got closer to Wilt Chamberlain’s big man record for the most trip-dubs in NBA history during the process.

With 78 total triple-doubles, Chamberlain presently holds the NBA record for centres. This was noted by ESPN Stats & Info. With just two more, Jokic will surpass his previous record.

Jokic should soon be able to beat Chamberlain and set a new record because he recorded 19 triple-doubles in 2021–22 and 16 the year before. In fact, there’s a chance he’ll surpass the 100-triple-double plateau in 2022–23, especially with Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr. returning to the Nuggets.

 Nikola Jokic

Jokic may become the sixth player and first centre in NBA history to exceed 100 triple-doubles, joining only five other players who have done it. Currently at the top of the list are Russell Westbrook, Oscar Robertson, Magic Johnson, Jason Kidd, and LeBron James.

Every Nuggets fan is aware that Jokic doesn’t prioritise his individual accolades and statistics, but it would still be awesome if he could surpass Wilt’s record and record a century of triple-doubles this season.
