The Gunners have been linked to a winger and central midfielder. Wolves are close to signing Valencia winger Goncalo Guedes, giving Arsenal a significant transfer boost in their pursuit of long-term target Pedro Neto.
Until the end of the transfer window, Mikel Arteta has made it clear that he is looking to bolster his team’s roster with new players. Technical director Edu has signed five players so far this summer: Gabriel Jesus, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Fabio Vieira, Matt Turner, and Marquinhos.

The latter has already won over the hearts of Arsenal supporters with his spectacular performance in the Gunners’ 3-1 victory over Manchester United’s under-21 team. Arsenal may potentially take advantage of Wolves’ move for Guedes by preparing a bid for Neto, who has been linked to both the Gunners and the club.
A move to Molineux for the Valencia winger, reportedly offered by Wolves for more than £27 million, might pave the way for Neto to move to the Emirates Stadium, as reported by the Express.
Genaro Gattuso, manager of Valencia, told Tribuna Deportivo that the La Liga club had received a “big proposal” from a Premier League club for Guedes. It is widely believed that the club in issue is Wolves.
Since he is getting closer to a move to Molineux, Guedes was left off of Gattuso’s Valencia team for Saturday’s 2-1 friendly win over Italian club Atalanta. It’s possible that Arsenal may be able to sign Neto from their Premier League opponents if Guedes completes his move and joins Bruno Lage’s side.
On September 28, 2019, Neto made his Premier League debut for Wolverhampton Wanderers against Watford at Molineux, assisting on the game’s first goal. After having a goal disallowed controversially by VAR at Liverpool on December 29th, he became the club’s youngest player to score in the Premier League when he scored against Watford on January 1st, 2020 (a 2-1 loss on the road).
As the 2020–21 Premier League season got underway on October 4, 2020, Wolves defeated Fulham 1-0 at home thanks to a goal from Neto. He signed a new deal through 2025 a month later.

On November 29, 2020, in a league match against Arsenal, Neto was named the match’s man of the match by Sky Sports after scoring once and assisting on the other goal scored by Daniel Podence in a 2–1 victory, which became the team’s first road win against Arsenal since 1979.
In the first half of the 1–0 loss to Fulham on the road on April 9, 2021, he suffered a significant knee injury that would keep him out for the rest of that season and the majority of the next. On February 20, 2022, he made his long-awaited return, coming off the bench in the second half of a 2-1 home victory over Leicester City.
Neto signed a new contract on his 22nd birthday, March 9, 2022, which will keep him with the team until 2027. On the final day of the season, 22 May, he scored his first goal for the club since his injury, beginning a 3–1 loss at Liverpool in the third minute.
