Russell Westbrook Is Having a Thumb Injury Checked Out,

Following his team’s 123-92 victory over the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday night at Arena, Los Angeles Lakers guard Russell Westbrook will have his right thumb examined on Monday, according to Lakers head coach Darvin Ham.

It’s unclear precisely when Westbrook’s shooting hand thumb became sore during the course of the contest. After that, he had X-rays, which revealed nothing. The thumb problem was not brought up by Westbrook in his postgame press conference.

In the absence of head coach Gregg Popovich, the Lakers easily defeated a struggling Spurs team for their most comfortable victory of the 2022–23 campaign (illness).

Anthony Davis scored 30 points and grabbed 18 rebounds in the Lakers’ third straight victory, his third consecutive Bubble AD retrospective, and Austin Reaves added 21 points. Five additional Lakers scored more than ten points.

The current front-runner for Sixth Man of the Year, Russell Westbrook, was a +14 in 22 minutes. He made 2-of-5 from the 3-point range and 4-of-9 from the field.

Russ has averaged 17.5 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 8.5 assists in 29.7 minutes per game since switching to the bench. He has made 80% of his free throw attempts and shot 39.5% (! ) from beyond the arc.

As a result of a left adductor strain, LeBron James missed his fourth straight game. According to Ham, Los Angeles is taking extra precautions with the 20-year veteran.

The Lakers (5-10) will next play the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday at the Footprint Center, then the Spurs on Friday and Saturday at the AT&T Center in a home-and-home series.
