The offseason transaction that brought quarterback Russell Wilson from the Seattle Seahawks to the Denver Broncos set up a Week 1 meeting between the two teams on Monday night in Seattle.
Between these two events, however, there are reams written about the events that led to the split and the exchange. Here, Corbin Smith of our team digs deep. Another version of the story claims Wilson is “livid” with coach Pete Carroll for “letting his foot off the throttle” in the fourth quarter of their 27-20 victory over the Atlanta Falcons on October 27, 2019.

honors and a fifth-place finish in Offensive Player of the Year voting, but Baltimore QB Lamar Jackson ultimately took home the NFL’s top honor. Jackson led the league in passing touchdowns (36) and rushed for 1,206 yards and seven scores.
Career
During his junior year at Collegiate School, a prep school in Richmond, Virginia, Wilson threw for 3,287 yards and 40 touchdowns and carried for 634 yards and 15 touchdowns. He was chosen all-district, all-region, and all-state, and he won the Richmond Times-Dispatch Player of the Year award twice.
Wilson led his high school team to a state title as a senior while also leading the team in passing (3,009 yards), rushing (1,132 yards), and scoring (18 touchdowns). He was named all-conference, all-state, and conference player of the year.

He was featured in Sports Illustrated for his performance in the state title game. Wilson met future Denver Broncos quarterback and future NFL MVP and Hall of Famer Peyton Manning at a summer football clinic he attended while in high school.
