Sandy Alcantara

Sandy Alcantara, a starting pitcher for the Miami Marlins, was named the 2022 National League Cy Young Award winner on Wednesday. He won with a unanimous vote, becoming the first pitcher in Marlins history to have the distinction of Cy Young Award winner.

Alcantara tossed 228 innings this season, which was the most in the league. Amazingly, he pitched six complete games, which was more than the combined total of the other 29 major league teams. There will be more to this story as it develops.
