Sebastien Haller

As a forward for Eredivisie club Ajax and the Ivory Coast national team, Sébastien Romain Teddy Haller was born on June 22nd, 1994 in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.

Haller began his professional career with Auxerre before moving on loan to Dutch Eredivisie side Utrecht in 2015. After two years in the Netherlands, he went to Eintracht Frankfurt in Germany, where he won the DFB-Pokal in 2018.

It appears that a deal has been struck between Sebastian Kehl and AFC Ajax in a long-running transfer drama involving Sebastien Haller and Borussia Dortmund. Erling Haaland is leaving the club and Dortmund has been looking for a replacement since Haller ripped through their defence in the Champions League.

It appears that a deal has been struck between Sebastian Kehl and AFC Ajax in a long-running transfer drama involving Sebastien Haller and Borussia Dortmund. Dortmund has been interested in Haller ever since he shook up their defence in the Champions League, and they believe he is the best candidate to succeed Erling Haaland, who is leaving the club.

For context, Moussa Dembele of Lyon has also scored 21 goals in 30 league appearances this season (his best season to date). The French and Dutch Leagues could be compared to one another in terms of competitiveness. Even so, Dembele failed to make an impact during a brief loan spell at Atletico Madrid because the system did not favour him.

What am I trying to get across? To be honest, I’m not sure. Dortmund could do better to focus their attention on Dembele instead. He’s a lot more youthful than I am. It’s possible that Dortmund is making a hasty decision to sign a player who looked terrific last year but hasn’t been good every year. If Dortmund decides to spend all that money on David Raum, they may miss out on the chance to get him.

However, it appears like the large Ivorian will don the black and yellow in August, so we can only hope that he gets off to a good start and quickly bonds with the rest of the squad.

According to the publication, Ajax has rejected Dortmund’s first bid for the 27-year-old midfielder and is now demanding a sum of around 40 million euros. There are, however, hopes that a deal for roughly 37 million euros will be struck in the next few days. For the first time ever, Haller would be valued more than any other player ever signed by the club.

When it came to scoring goals for Ajax this season, the former Eintracht Frankfurt striker had a career-high 34, including 11 in the UEFA Champions League. Even if Borussia Dortmund offered him more money, he would prefer to join the Bundesliga rather than the English Premier League.

Prior to the start of preseason training, the Black and Yellows will be pursuing the signing of Haller, who is expected to join the team soon.

A 5-1 away win over Sporting on September 15, 2021, saw him become the first player since Marco van Basten for A.C. Milan in 1992 to score four goals on his Champions League debut. It was on September 28 of this year that Haller scored against Beşiktaş, making him the first player ever in Champions League history to score five goals in just two appearances.
