p>For the Dallas Mavericks in the 2022–23 season, Luka Doncic is scoring at a historically high rate, and the frightening part is that he’s only getting started. In light of this, ESPN analyst and former NBA big man Kendrick Perkins have grave concerns for the entire country of America.
In their game against the Orlando Magic on Sunday night, the Slovenian prodigy scored 44 points, making him the first player since Michael Jordan in 1986–1987 to have at least 30 points in each of the season’s first six games. In addition, he is only the second Maverick, after Dirk Nowitzki, to record a 40-point game with no turnovers.

Perkins was left with just three words to say after hearing Doncic erupt once more: “God Bless America.” We can’t really fault Kendrick Perkins for sending that very scary message, to be fair. America and the entire NBA are witnessing how deadly Luka Doncic can be, and while he established himself as one of the league’s top scorers, he is also causing mayhem.
It appears that Doncic will continue to perform impressive scoring feats for some time to come. Not with him at the center of the Mavs’ offensive scheme. With 36.7 points per game this season, he is already leading the league in scoring, and given how he is performing, he may wind up winning the scoring title.
